Find out the wonders of Manuka honey here

From the hives of New Zealand to your local H&B, we're buzzing to share our 100% natural, pure, fully certified Manuka honey range and what makes it special. We also have an unmatched range of strengths from 40-1000 MGO – you won’t find this anywhere else on the high street.

Know your monofloral from your multifloral or your UMF from your NPA? Whether you want to make sense of MGO ratings, rustle up some recipes or soothe a sore throat, we're here to help with our Manuka 101.

Because there's more to Manuka than you might think.

What is manuka honey?

What’s the difference between regular honey and Manuka?

Manuka certainly packs a punch when it comes to antibacterial and antimicrobial properties, whether you use it in cooking, to help relieve sore throats or as a natural alternative to sugar. Here’s how regular honey and Manuka compare.2

Which MGO should I choose?

MGO, or methylgloxal, is the magic ingredient in Manuka honey, with well-documented antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. The higher the MGO number on the label, the greater the health benefits and anti-bacterial properties are.

At Holland & Barrett, we've simplified the Manuka honey that we sell. This means you will only see MGO ratings on our labels and not UMF or NPA. If you've previously bought UMF or NPA-rated Manuka honey, here’s a simple chart that shows you the corresponding MGO level.
